Boys and Girls

I was surfing the pictures on Google for one that I could write my blog about this week and that's when I came across this picture. This picture contradicts some of the major stereotypes of gender in society. The first sentence on here is talking about how girls are seen as weak and boys are seen as strong but there are many girls and boys out there that feel the exact opposite. These boys and girls do not want to be seen as different by society so they decide to keep how they really feel a secret. If you keep reading the list of these certain stereotypes, you can see that society can mentally and physically hurting the young boys and girls of the world. "For every boy struggling not to let advertising dictate his desires, there is a girl facing the ad industry's attacks on her self-esteem." Right there, there is a stereotype that is hurting someone mentally and physically. The sad thing is that the majority of things on this list are actually done. From the last line of this, I get that for every female who is getting her freedom, there is a male out there who is getting his freedom. For example, a female is able to be strong and not be looked down upon so a male is able to feel vulnerable and not be made fun of. I believe that at the end, it is saying that sooner or later, these stereotypes will no longer be made and everyone will be able to do as they please. Anyone have a different thought?
